Lanex is pleased to partner with Lakeland University through its Workforce and Professional Development program for Artificial Intelligence in the Real World, a practical AI workshop designed to help businesses and professionals better understand how artificial intelligence can be applied to business, operations, and everyday workflows.

The workshop will take place Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 1–5 p.m. at Lakeland University in the Laun Building, Room 209. The session is open to all and will be led by Lanex Founder Matt McCoy and EVP and technical lead Max McCoy.

A Practical Look at AI in the Real World

AI is rapidly changing how organizations work, but understanding where it can provide real value—and where it introduces new risks—is just as important as understanding the technology itself.

Rather than focusing solely on theory, this workshop will explore practical applications of AI and how modern AI systems can be thoughtfully incorporated into real-world work environments.

Participants will learn about:

  • Responsible AI adoption practices
  • The impact of AI on productivity and organizational workflows
  • Practical business applications for AI tools
  • How modern AI systems and large language models (LLMs) work
  • Core AI concepts and terminology
  • The strengths, limitations, and risks of AI

The workshop will include practical demonstrations, guided discussions, and interactive Q&A, giving participants an opportunity to explore both the possibilities and challenges of using AI in the workplace.

Learn From Industry Experience

With decades of experience building software, websites, and technology solutions for organizations, the Lanex team brings a practical perspective to the conversation around AI.

Matt McCoy, Lanex’s founder, and Max McCoy, EVP and technical lead, will lead the workshop and share their experience with the technologies and challenges organizations are encountering as AI becomes increasingly integrated into everyday work.

The goal isn’t simply to understand what AI can do. It’s to help participants think more critically about where AI can create value, how it can be adopted responsibly, and what organizations should consider when evaluating AI tools and workflows.
